Why take part?
China is still a developing country and many people are still living far away from urban areas. Farming and fishing are what they do for living. Because of the lack of money and information, these low-income family could not send their children to receive education. If no one cares, this group of people would have no chance walking out from where they are.
Taking part in this walkathon can make your steps into hopes. It is a golden opportunity to help make a difference to the world and spread the message that there are still love in the soc
The route of the walk
As the name Walkathon implies, the distance will be long but we try to keep it simple and manageable to everyone. First, we will meet at Central MTR station Exit C, 9am. Then, we will walk to the Peak. The distance is about 3km and it will take approximately one and a half hours. Once we arrive the Peak, we will take a group photo and participants can enjoy the view of Hong Kong as a short break. After that, we will go the same way down to Central and be dismissed before lunch.
The work of, Walk to Build
Walk to Build is a charity organization which helps children around the world to build or rebuild their schools. Walk to Build focus on helping developing countries and we believe that only with knowledge can their standard of living be changed.
Each event held by Walk to Build will automatically be linked to walkathon. Based on the distance, we search for companies and partners before the events to become sponsors. The long the distance, the more the fund raised. 10% of the donation will be taken as management fee charge so as to keep our organization sustainable.
