Dear Principal,
I am writing to give some suggestions about redeveloping the rooftop of our school’s main building. Being the chairperson of the students’ union, helping school’s development is important. Therefore, we would like to make some suggestions to let everyone here have a better school life.
To begin with, a facility that could be installed will be a place for gardening. At the moment, our rooftop is as dirty as a landfill. To refresh the view of it, making a little garden at the rooftop can be considered. Our school can have some plants and vegetables there to decorate the place and provide students with a place to gather. This does bring a host of benefits for us, students.
The most obvious advantage is that having a garden can teach students how to take care of lives. Flowers and vegetables are, after all, something which grow and die. Allowing students to plant is an active way to let students think deeper into living. The chance on reflections as to how one’s care can affect the growth of another living object is invaluable.
Another clear advantage is students who are interested in gardening can be given hands-on practice. Not all of us are sporty and some of us are the downshifting type who enjoys taking things slowly. Therefore, installing a little garden at the rooftop can cater the need of another batch of students. Everyone deserves a place for their leisure activities in school.
As to the above mentioned, our school’s rooftop can be a place with so much potential for redevelopment. In order not to waste a hidden treasure, making a little garden out of it is worth our contemplation.
Yours faithfully,
Chris
