Dear Ms Chan,
I have recently heard that our school is planning to redevelop the school building’s rooftop. As the Chairperson of the Students’ Union, I think I am obligated to propose a suggestion in a bid to create a better learning environment for the students.
From my point of view, a Design and Technology room should be installed at the rooftop. In this DT room, we can provide students with 3D printers and state-of-the-art computers for students to learn more about technology and unleash creativity. In this room, students can have an opportunity to really become a maker and the sky’s the limit.
Among all the merits of the DT room development, none are as prominent as opening the door of possibility. As the society gradually puts greater emphasis on STEM, academic results have no longer been the only yardstick to enroll a great university or obtain a good job. Therefore, most of the schools, if not all, are trying to provide more chances for their students to have hands-on experiences and learn by making. To raise their competitiveness on this field, as I have mentioned, having a DT room at the top of our school will certainly mark its importance.
The following on reason on explaining DT room development is increasing our school’s reputation. Since we are capable of developing cut-edge technology and students can obviously take advantages on it, our school will be welcomed by parents who care about more than merely academic achievements. Coming with this would be a higher admission rate and more budget from the government or other business sectors. Consequently, our students can have more resources to explore learning in many other ways.
It is hoped that you find my proposal of some use. Should you have any questions or require more details, I would be delighted to come to you for a more comprehensive talk. Thank you!
Yours sincerely,
Chris Wong
