You are the President of the Students’ Union at your school. You are preparing a speech to welcome new students on the first day of school. In order to help new students achieve success and have an enjoyable school life, you want to talk about the following in your speech:
* Importance of following school rules; and
* Importance of interpersonal relationships.

Good morning Principal, teachers and fellow students,

To start with, following school rules allow us to uphold the order of our school. Through upholding the order, your schoolmates and you are going to have an enjoyable school life without others disturbing. You will be safe and you can focus on what you are supposed to do and learn. So school rules are indeed allowing us to enjoy every bit of our school life.

More importantly, school rules teach us the virtue of self-discipline which is essential to achieving success. School rules are not merely instructions and orders. They guide us to the way to excel in both academic and moral development. They teach us to respect others and focus on our studies. In other words, school rules help us develop virtues and a sense of responsibility which lay a solid foundation for achieving excellence.

Besides talking only about the importance of following school rules, relationships between you and your schoolmates are also necessary for leading a successful and happy school life.

Firstly, having friends is going to get you a better and more memorable school life since they’re going to accompany you in your six years of school life. They will join various activities with you and make your life at school more meaningful and enjoyable. You will be surprised by how they will make every memory of yours in school counts.

Secondly, having good relationships with classmates or even schoolmates are going to help you achieve success. Why is it? It is mainly because good friends and teachers treat you nicely and help you get through tough times. By that, they give you motivation and encourage you to strive for your personal goals despite all the hardships. They give you confidence to overcome obstacles and achieve success.

So keep these tips in mind! I am sure they will pave you the way to successes and a happy school life. Simply follow the rules, and make meaningful connections, you will then be able to make the most out of your life here and have many wonderful years ahead. Thank you.
