Dear Editor,
With the advance of technology, the natures of many things have changed, so has crime. Today, I would like to tell you a little more about hi-tech crimes and give you some advice.
Firstly, the possible and appalling hi-tech crimes would be discussed. As we all know, hackers are hiding in our surrounding areas who are invisible to us. They are targeting to steal our information when we carelessly use our electronic devices. One common method of hackers is to spread the virus on the Internet. The more chances we expose to the Internet, the more opportunities we fall prey to their traps.
Apart from the above mentioned crime, stealing personal information is another common way of the scammers. When we use the public computer and wifi to conduct online banking and purchase products, our personal information including bank account and credit card numbers would be easily disclosed to strangers. They may take advantage of our information to commit crimes or we may suffer financial loss.
To better protect our information, precautions should be taken to avoid being cheated by others. First, installing anti-virus software is the first and foremost step to safeguard our electronic devices from being hacked. Second, we should change passwords periodically to heighten the security level so that the scammers are not able to hack into our personal accounts. Third, it is advised that we should not use public computers to conduct any private banking and purchase products online as they are ways for scammers to obtain our information.
In conclusion, it is a fact that the hi-tech crimes are hard to solve due to the rapid development of technology. Therefore, we need to take precautions to protect our personal information in order to avoid falling prey to the hackers’ traps. We need to be a wise Internet user to make our online behaviour safe and enjoyable.
Yours Faithfully,
