Dear Editor,
Many people said that the current education system is putting too much pressure on students. In order to have a better and happier learning experience, some parents resort to the mode of homeschooling to teach their children. Although homeschooling has more freedom, I still prefer the mode of traditional schooling.
To start with, traditional schooling is a better choice because schools have a full range of resources to support teaching. In schools, there are comfortable learning environment, reference books and useful teaching materials which are good for students’ learning. Moreover, students are able to get assistance from teachers and classmates when they encounter any difficulty in the learning process. Only under these circumstances, students can learn better. However, there are insufficient resources to support schooling at home. Could you imagine what students can learn from their parents or private tutors without any teaching aids? For example, there is no equipment to conduct a science experiment in homeschooling so students are merely basing their knowledge on books. From these differences, traditional schooling is a ideal choice for students to acquire knowledge.
Another reason is that the quality of teaching in the mode of traditional schooling is better than the one in homeschooling. Cultivation of knowledge in students requires good educators. In schools, teachers are well equipped with professional knowledge and years of experience in teaching. They have skilled teaching strategies to conduct lessons and are able to design tailor-made teaching materials to cater to students’ learning ability. On the contrary, parents or private tutors may not be able to use the best strategy for them as they lack professional trainings in teaching. Therefore, traditional schooling is a better option to cultivate knowledge to our students.
Traditional schooling is a good approach to teach students regarding the resources and quality of teaching. It is not hard for us to make a wise decision on cultivating our future pillars of knowledge and personal development.
Yours faithfully,
